Water Water Everywhere

A new English source on water method is now available, thanks to the painstaking effort of Master Hung HC. This book is by far, quite a complete genre of SanHe water method. Within it encompasses the 2 well known antagonistic camps of SanHe. One originated from the typical YangGong approach of 12 phases water method while the other the FanGua or Flipping Trigram, which was believed to have been in existence pre-dating YangGong himself.

Reading HHC’s lucid rendition of such heavy loaded classics with some strokes of humour, clearly justify the author’s ability in a self-confessed style of a YangGong convert.  This very book may even be a revival of interest in SanHe methodology.

It is whimsical to note that the ideation of GuTuo and CheYing, both monks, are illiterate and yet they are the masters of SanHe. It must be truly the work of hidden hands such as fairies with the collective of authors that we, today learnt about the Assitant Star Water Method and the 4 Major Water Mouths. Literati FengShui master like Zhao JiuFeng refined CheYing’s work further into a compendium of SanHe, called Earthly Principles 5 Verses. This classic laid the foundation for the Water Dragon method popularized by our modern writers liked Big Sister and a famous Grandmaster.

Yet no known author expanded on GuTuo’s work, leaving RuDiYan as the most “corrupted” classic with many later days addition with no citation whatsoever. Even HHC admitted that he has no idea where the sequence of the stars in the transformation comes about.

With the passing of the YangGong Old Method Grandmaster Li at the ripe age of 100, some secret techniques of the YangGong School may have lost. Yet, HHC believes that the essence is preserved within another SanHe method by Ye JiuShen, called whatsoever name water method, published almost the same time with CheYing’s book. Being whatsoever, HHC took the liberty to call it Early and Later Heaven water method but it has nothing to do with Dragon Gate 8 Formations or QianKun National Treasure water methods.

Ye JiuShen took a “rocket-science” of his days approach in deploying 4 major water mouths where the Later Heaven components are similar to CheYing’s approach but the Early Heaven components are mind-boggling. So archaic is this Early Heaven that later day author dropped it altogether and named it simply as Later Heaven Water Method.

It is a good read...

Hari Malaysia Yesterday

2 Years ago, we audited a wooden house, while most Malaysian enjoying the Sept 16 Malaysia Day holidays (detail read HERE). 2 years down the road, the owner prospered. He replaced the existing wooden structure with a permanent detached house (Bungalow). A number of subtle FengShui structure has been installed since ground breaking. Strangely, we do not need to set any Xue, align any door and place anything. Everything strangely seems to be in proper place. Is there an invisible force at play?

BaZhai TianYuan Fu - 八宅天元賦

BaZhai TianYuan Fu, written by Jiang DaHong may be taken with a pinch of salt. However, it is a script explaining the true mechanism of the "kindergarten" eight mansions. The style of instructions unlike Jiang's will of Heaven must not be disclosed, are rather straight forward. So, unlikely it is his work.

Coincidentally named BaZhai, it is an anti thesis to BaZhai MingJing which is a tapestry of SanHe and SanYuan hybrid. In Jiang's time, BaZhai is already so corrupted. He obviously did not deny the potency of BaZhai. All he did was to question further.

One question was, instead of consuming frightening name such as JueMing, it remains just a label. Any forms of Broken Mountain, as the author quoted is just another star created equally by Heaven. Similarly with the absurdity with an East and West house which is in true nature, is YinYang. In almost all his explanation, he  is talking about such in the forms of layers within the scale of environment, house and rooms. Obviously, this may also be mistakenly taken as a house sitting Gua is an absolute nonsense!

This script has never fails to amuse us in QuanYuan. The author further deliberates on the genesis of BaZhai which is rooted in SanYuan. Period Luck in his outright explanation differ so much from the modern application of FlyingStar, that immediately derailed Sheng's postulation. It inclines toward the theory in Purple White. Where do one think Life Gua is derived from?

The author is an adept to this art. Clarity of structure, Heaven Heart, YinYang, Qi flow, Receiving Qi are predominantly emphasize. As a matter of fact, it is so consistent with the other methods where the basis is YinYang. That is one reason, such "kindergarten" technique will not fail once it is applied correctly. The key to understand such is not in the theory but in the LandForm. The very pre-kindergarten level of RuDi Yan or Entering Earth Eye.

Another maverick idea is Yang FengShui is much superior to Yin FengShui. Pragmatic ways if Grave matter is not an option. Underlaying such is the implication that BaZhai is only applicable within the domains of Yang FengShui. Therefore know the limits.

For QuanYuan's student, you will understand more when you read the script as you have been drilled upon such in the FengShui workshop. We are not at the liberty to explain further in Yifengshui.

Thanks to Terrence Chan, an English translation is now available in PDF. He has continuously benefited the English speaking FengShui communities with his untiring labor in translation and commentaries as a student of Chinese metaphysics and due credits must be given to him. It is so sweet of him categorizing the scripts into sub headings and commentaries, which may also influence our way of thought.

Next time, when one is confronted with BaZhai, remember Jiang's own words, thus act with cautions.

Know Your Annual Afflictions

XinMao year is approaching when the clock strikes 4th February 2011 at 12:32pm and we hail the arrival of LiChun that comes after the Lunar New Year. For such, we don’t call this a “blind” year and therefore, many new adventures may take place liked married, new partnership and so forth. Liked the overrated Y2K and period 8 “hoo-haa”, “blind” year is technically a term significant only in the aspect of Daoism and not much in FengShui. Furthermore, GengYin Qi has not totally faded and XinMao Qi does not come all of the sudden. It will have to wait a couple of months longer before the tiny foot of the rabbit steps in in-lieu of the tiger’s paw.

So there is really no worry, if you have not bought the PiYao to pacify the annual TaiSui, now residing in Mao or Rhino to cast away the robbery star 7, wind-chimes to pacify the 5 yellow, Calabash to store away the illness star 2 and the multiple arrays of placebo objects from Wealth God riding rabbit, mandarin ducks to activate the 4 romance star to Nine tiers water fall to stimulate the purple 9 to renew the Qi of the house. In fact, these sorts of object may not necessary work wonders in the FengShui terms based on the following reasons: -

1. The object in resemblance of heavenly beings, animals, humans, pagodas, calabash and so forth, if it is not consecrated accordingly, will be the domain for unknown spirit to reside. Go check it out with your Gurus or any spiritual masters for that matter. Would you want your house to be a garden of unknown spirits? Even if it is consecrated, would you want your house to be a temple? This isn’t FengShui but by doing so, you will step into the threshold of Yin and Yang. Just think for a while.

2. Metallic sound of metal is believed to be weakening the earth Qi of the reputed 5 yellow Sha. Just think again how long it would takes for earth to produce metal? Bet you, by the time dragon comes in, it would not even have enough time to produce an ounce of metal. No worry about the 5 yellow, as long as there is no breaking of the ground, knocking or drilling of the wall and dragging of heavy furniture at the east sector of the house. Keep it a passive space like a bedroom, meditation room and study is good enough.

3. Rhino be it single horn or 9 horns has never been a native animal in China and it was a candid surprise to know that it is used to drive away robbers, which is to our knowledge that thief and robbers are afraid of the policemen and break in alarm. Think about it again, between an alarm system and a statute of a Rhino which potentially be possessed, which stand a better chance to drive away the robber or bloodshed disaster? The 7 star is technically locked in the center of the grid comes XinMao year. As Xin is protruding, as a 7 Killing to Mao, it means to say if the property is not well supported in its FengShui formation, the resident of the property will be subjected to much gossips, petty people and potential bloodshed especially when the TaiSui, SuiPo and SanSha is affected. Otherwise, one word says all – No Worry. Even in the Daoist perspectives, your house is already naturally well guarded by the MenShen or Door Gods, even if there is no image of such Gods sticking at the door leaves. Why do you still need a rhino for?

4. The Calabash, especially in its natural form is something not to “play-play” with. We have seen enough of what it can do if it is not “handle” with care, the Daoist way. In FengShui, it is seldom use as remedy with the exception of to garner the imagery of a Dui Gua. It is believed that when Dui, the youngest daughter cry, the mother Kun Gua which happened to be the number 2 star, will display its motherly nature. By the same token, Mother Nature can sometimes be unsentimental. So when do you know how to switch the switch? In another words, it is playing with fire. The 2 black is residing in Li palace at the south sector. When the south is a bedroom, naturally it is a passive room with the general wellbeing taken care of. If there is no external ShaQi liked Pylon, broken mountain, waterfalls and the sort, the number 2 star would remain dormant and not be aggravated. It is better if the window of such room opens up to a fleshy mountain. Then the number 2 star, in return, can be a bountiful harvest or even as a heavenly doctor instead.

Things That They Don't Teach In FengShui School

What we have discussed earlier are some thoughts that you don’t need to spend unnecessarily for placebo FengShui comes every year and dealing with annual afflictions are just simple method of lay back and do nothing about it, contrary to some irresponsible recommendations of FengShui monster, to fight SanSha and the sort. If there is existing external ShaQi, dial 911 and call for FengShui masters. Only they can fix the problem.

Recommendations of locating the main door, headboard and stove, found in annual FengShui forecast book, at locations deemed to have been visited by the annual favorable star is highly simplified. You will still not able to benefits from these noble stars unless, a genuine FengShui master does the ShouQi or NaQi for you, which means to say, they must be there to make the necessary alignment for you in respect of the structure of your house within a given time. That is one good reason; they have good business before the arriving of every New Year! A DIY is as best as to receive the good effects of Spring Cleaning. If it really comes true then you believe that the writer is God in disguise of a man and you will go for his professional advice in due course. If it does not come true, then by virtue of the exclusion clause printed in small print in among the front pages, you cannot do anything. That is a very good reason why it is a must from commercial FengShui masters to publish annual FengShui forecasts.

However, it is still a noble effort. As in betweens we are able to see how such nobilities are afflicted in some ways or another through another layer called, annual ShenSha usually found in the front few pages of the ThongSheng or the Almanac. A subject we shall discuss if times permit.

For completeness, let us look at the Purple White for XinMao year as part of QiMen DunJia methodology, for the upper period 8, XinMao year with the 5 yellow in the palace of growth. So, technically the 5 yellow for this year is a noble one. However, it shares the same palace with TaiSui, so in another ShenSha dimensions, it means something else, which we shall discuss in the topic of ShenSha. Whereas, 9 are in the palace of controlling out, so technically speaking it is a benevolent 9 purple caught in a difficult situation for it to display its nobility. Meeting SuiPo and SanSha, it also means something else. If there is a physical door in that sector, what does it opens up in terms of the “Human Door”, thus what sort of “gods” of nobility are we inviting through such “door”?

In conclusion, there are many dimensions into an otherwise, simple chart of annual flying star. Saying thus, we can still DIY but be prepare if nothing happens. That is already a good sign of auspiciousness!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

The Empowering BaZi Workshop Ever!

Excuse us for not updating Yifengshui so regularly. We would like to discuss more about 8 Mansions but at the moment, we would like to share with you the moments of our workshop on BaZi applications. It was a unique composition of students where to our surprised, most of them has prior knowledge in BaZi fundamentals. Coupled with our repeat students the workshop kicked off with high gears towards clashes, combination and transformations. The highlights are the manners of which we treat these notions of movements in the BaZi chart, almost unconventional from the usual norm. As reiterated by one student from the republic, by far this is one of the Best BaZi courses she has ever attended. The answer which was long sought after has been answered. We were also humbled by the attendance of students of other schools, which has largely benefited from the no holding back approach of Master Ng. The highlights ended with even more laughter at dinner.

Next, the other main course was day 2, specifically reserved for the 10 Gods. Our repeat students dwell on it with much ease whereas it was an almost guaranteed eye opener for the new students. Never had they seen the 10 Gods can be played with in such flexibilities and in such a manner that the chart could be read in so many ways! Words just cannot describe it all. The real "kung-fu" is how the 10 gods are in actions! You must SEE to believe it!

The closing day was the icing of the cake. Within the confine of the four walls, all secrets were revealed! We respect the guts of the volunteer to allow their BaZi to be dissected in minute details: a testimony that ZiPing BaZi can be as good and detailed as compared to its cousin, ZeWei DouShu. As one student in Penang puts it, he has never felt so "naked" before even the spiritual sides can be easily revealed. Unfortunately, we cannot reveal all the "scandalous" pointers that have been hiding deep within the chart. One word says all - MARVELOUS!

Bonus, BingBazi drop by all the way from Malacca to show us his pet techniques of investigating the spiritual dimensions of the BaZi chart. As time is drawing near to an end passed 8 pm, where most outstation and oversea students need to catch their flights, they had only THREE things to bring back - enormous exposure to REAL BaZi applications besides the good food that Seremban has to offer and endless laughter from our good bouncy Lenny, whom we owed so much for his effort to organize this workshop.

For our students of QuanYuan, we will take your suggestions to improve on our shortcomings and to organize more workshops of these natures especially in FengShui. As organizing workshops are not as simple as it is, as we have to balance logistics with the course contents, we are looking forward to bring you more quality expositions in Chinese Metaphysics by next year.

To the numerous calls and emails for enquiry that we had received after the workshop either for BaZi and FengShui consultations, we regret to say that our appointment for the moment is quite full especially coming to the end of the year. We thank you for your interest in our services and please speak to Lenny should you need to contact us. His information is HERE.

Last but not least, Master Ng's message to his students is equally important especially on the secret techniques of XieZi. His full message is HERE.

We look forward to see you again in our courses line up for next year!

Meaningful Coincidence - The Secrets of The WenWang Gua

What has XuanKong YiGua and WenWang Gua has in common? Just about 4 weeks ago, we placed an order for a book called The Secrets of WenWang Gua. The discription of the book is rather interesting. So, we decided to place an order.

The shipment has not arrived since then. Just one fine morning while we contemplated on such, we made a divination. A question was asked. A divination is cast and an answer has arrived- Thunder over Wind. So, we email the author. His response was rather neutral (shouldn't it suppose to be roaring liked thunder?) and just about 2 hours later, the order reached our doorsteps (2hours=1Chinese hour). Interesting, for a start in reading WenWang Gua.

We are going to spend a few days reading this book, while I was trying to experiment as to the ease of understanding such a subject through this book, by the lens of two  distinctive individuals, one with basic knowledge of the 5 elements and the other - none, just to see at the end, has the book manage to presents itself in an informative manner. Just a quick  glance of its content, our personal opinion, it is a book that appear to be substance over forms. So, do not judge a book by its cover.

Will write more about it in due cause.
