A Strange JiaZi

It is very strange. January the 8, 2009, I wrote: -
“In every downturn, millionaires are created. These creations are based on a hope. It will not be surprise to see more Chinese Metaphysicist selling such hopes, more classes and courses will be held, more masters will be coming from the mountain of China, Taiwan and Hong Kong to the third world to do salvation as the first world is unsalvageable, let alone more PiYao, Fu Dog or QiLin will be offered to ward away the Grand Duke. It is this very strange hope that one finds its market and be the next millionaire…”

Recently, the advertisement for more Chinese metaphysics classes had taken up spaces in the internet, from popular poll to forum and weblog, both from the famous academies to the underdogs. This is a very strange phenomenon in the onset of the ailing economies. I was also surprise that the third world has been eyed as a potentials market from masters of the first world, so willingly are the people of the third world to pay in a first world currency at a first world price for the first world masters to teach the third world people. Reflecting the very alter-ego or the opposite of the personification of Yang JiuPing, (Yang saving the poor). Very convincing indeed and may have been the strange working of the JiaZi.

In addition, I find it strange when I wrote: -

“The Cow comes with the mud. Supposing to be wet, if it does not stick well on the wall, at least it could grow the plant…”

It does not stick well on the wall meaning this coming together does not last. The recent Malaysia political fiasco has witnessed the breaking up of the oppositional front, Pakatan Rakyat, when their members leave the party and lean towards the Ruling Coalition Front, Barisan Rakyat and vice versa. Such phenomenon is called party hopping, liked a frog.

Soon, with the coming of more metaphysics classes in town, instructors of the academies will migrate from one shore to another, very similar to the Malaysian political scenario and these had happened. I will not be surprise to note that if politicians may go “missing”, the instructors will also be going “missing” at some point of time. This is very strange.

It is very strange when some masters are revisiting the syllabus of the basic metaphysic courses, quoting that the information is now easily available in the English language, therefore these fundamental course will need to be re-engineered. Very conclusive indeed that the current fundamentals are lacked in both substances and depth, in self confessing style, in the hope for forgiveness. Very strange.

It is also very strange when the contents of the course now made available in exorbitant price at USD1000, marketed in a third world countries are now made available in English offering at the price of USD100.

What is going on?

Chris,

I remember advising someone of the followings which may well confirmed your observation: -

In the begining, there is no fengshui. There is only KanYu, the knowledge of Heaven & Earth. The term Feng Shui only comes in in accordance to GuoPu's writting of ZhangShu. KanYu has a wider notion, FengShui has a precise scope, riding ShengQi. Because Qi as at the moment cannot be quantify, it is not a science, but an art. Precisely categorised as Metasciences or Metaphysics.

Later development seen the emergence of McFengshui or NewAge Fengshui. The secrets of the ancient knowledge were handed down through family ties, currently heard to be of the 13-14 families of the Chinese origins. Others claiming lineages from here and there are a common scene for value added services, some called pedigree. Currently, we were told of a fake pedigree lurking around! so beware...

The all acompassing KanYu takes the notional of Tian, Di and Ren as the overall framework by the doctrine of first fate, second luck and thrid FengShui, although such dialectics are in my opinion, grossly misunderstood, plays a significant role in placing things in the order of the universe. Therefore, astrology becomes crucial.

Many followers were blinded by the fact that: -

1) One call oneself a master by attending courses or putting the right "Toad" at the right place
2) Money can buy everything, thus the commercialization of the academies
3) Fake Pedigree, in dragon robes and fancies grandmaster titles
4) E-learning, modern method of learning in lieu of the classical ways

Whereas the truth is: -

Such an art were meant to be handed down to the deserving one, not for mass consumption.

Infact, because abstract FengShui does not exist, it does not need to be proven. LiQi is meant for as a vehicle to qualify Qi, thus making it becomes an essential part of LuanTou. LiQi is not the ultimate truth. It is only an image. Both SanYuan and SanHe has its own sets of LiQi and LuanTou. However, SanHe has a greater degree of abstractness as compared to SanYuan. I however, do not reckoned such.

Dear Mr Yek

You mentioned: Such an art were meant to be handed down to the deserving one, not for mass consumption.

So it is really not something meant as a hobby?

I have just started reading up about bazi and, at times, feel that I am dabbling in things far greater than I can comprehend. (Assuming bazi is real) Not sure whether doing so is appropriate...

Hope you can comment on this. Thank you.

Hi C,

It meant that the person who master the art must be a righteous person. "He who practice the art, is protected by the art".

In your process of dabbling, you are walking an ancient pathway that require the light of your wisdom and commitment. This is the usual symptom.

Cheers

Dear Mr Yek

Hm.. your comments are profound. It generates more questions than answers.

I'm assuming that I shouldn't do anything morally wrong with the knowledge. Though I have yet to figure out how to use the knowledge for harm (or much good). :) And how would I know whether I am a righteous person?

I hope my dim light wouldn't flicker out soon. I'm going to pick up 2 bazi books from the library later!

Thank you. Have a good weekend.
