Confession of an Instructor Part Three

In level 3 and a half: -

The opening lessons are all recognizing of landforms and its terminology of which is obvious and are largely made available in Chinese book on the same topic. Walking the dragon via the projectors with half cooked imagery, the wises choice besides FengShui entourage.

The main dish of the days is the water method in SanHe. Now, students must buy the SanHe LuoPan. What is to be used of the SanYuan LuoPan, nobody knows. The most impressive of all is the SanHe 4 major water exits. There are basically 4 structures, of which water must not be outgoing from these directions and water must best come in from these directions. It is therefore paramount important to establish the following auspicious facing to tap into the water mouth which is equivalent to the road junctions. Facing is based on the gate, so tilting of gates is the norm of SanHe FengShui, just to receive water. Use this method together with the 72 dragon for measuring the quality of the Gaps, based on the HETU luck cycle with the selections only of the Bing, Ding, Geng and Xin stems for the rest is emptiness called turtle shell and squeezing emptiness, based on WenWang NaJia postulation. Interesting hypothesis indeed. These are all fallacies.

The sub-dishes are nothing but the introduction of mountain method notably of LaiGong’s human plate, measuring and divination of the embrace, determine the quality of the veins and spots using the 60 dragons, taught in half heartedly without dwelling in the basics of how would such 60 dragons be established from the outer to the inner rings of the LuoPan. A brushing encounter of the 3 auspicious 6 elegance method of embrace for the evaluation of the vicinity, as a standalone technique devoid of the water method, classify as SanHe and solely squeeze into the 24 mountain Earth plate of the SanHe LuoPan. These are also fallacies.

Again, upon graduation, one is entitled to be called; super advance practitioner and God bless all. Until such, no clue whatsoever of taking a sitting and a facing the SanHe method. This time around, the instructor has no time to answer question let alone do any sideline income from the students.

Again my closing remarks, may the ex-students of the academy have mercy and compassion towards whatsoever misdeed that had been done by the academy or their instructors, consciously or unconsciously, as these are the means of the Dhamma.

Sabbe Sattha Bhavantu Sukhithata.

Hi David

Your last blog makes me realize that heavy mortar gunnery is a sure way
to alter the feng shui of a site!

I remember the instructor i had in Paris: your description fits quite
well with her too why not they all have been selected by the same man so
with the same spirit... the ones that do not agree do not stay long...

it is true indeed that you can gather freely on the web far more
knowledge on feng shui than what is given by the most expensive level
one! and indeed with a few books can largely be come better than level 2
and as you said if you do not have the basics what use can be level 3 and upper?

What is questionable is that we had ex YCH students up their
level 5 which were unable to rectify or even point out the irrelevant data
and teachings so called Academy in town does not seems to be alone on the
cracker 's business ...
I do not know about LT ...
here i have summed up the 3 academies known in the west ... if it is at
this level this explains why LY's new age feng shui is quite the
most well known now for where's the difference between him and the others?
All this is also spilling the doubts on the others: what about JY the elder
and people like CKW...

Refering to your last mail I am quite willing to believe that genuine
Kan Yu masters are hidden, at least from westerners, and not so easy to
come by: why not ? leaving the would be apprentice making their way
through all the academies is a sure way to filter the not serious enough
people...

remids me of a translation of LP about paying a visit to a monk in
the mountain and not finding him....
the visitor finishes by resting their a while before departing, forgets
about his want and ends up in being attuned to the surrounding world...
after having heard the resounding of the monkey screams...

regards.

Hi yifengshui,

I truly enjoy what you wrote and very enlightening indeed. By the way, can i have the details of the book you mentioned written by a Singapore Teacher?

I do have to agree about the use of 8 mansions, which is why have avoid using it nowadays. There's too much discrepancies in the system after I have gone through the old texts. The old texts can't even agree on the determination of the Fu Wei, thus no point for all else that follows.

The use of Najia in 8 mansions by the academy is doubtful as I have looked through many Chinese works and there's no mention about it.

Finally, a Malaysian practitioner once shared with me that the true masters are hidden and don't really share their knowledge commercially. Their own business (non fengshui-related) have benefitted so much from their feng shui knowledge that they are too rich to even bother about making $ from fengshui consultations and teachings.

I enjoy your blog very much.

Cheers

Hi Alvin,

He is the teacher teaching this art in Singapore Polytechnic.

8 mansions method is a potent method based on DaGua principle, however the method of application is not as suggested by most of the book in the market.

Quite sensible way of looking at the real masters. They usually have the following criteria: -

1) Health
2) Family
3) Wealth

This is the major SanYuan in its completeness, in the order of priority.

Cheers

I agree with you on the criteria you have mentioned. Harmony begets wealth.

A lot of people are so focused on the "wealth" spot that they forgot that a house is mainly for family life.

Article “Confession of an instructor 1-2-3”: I first trained with Master YCH. I suppose the academy you mention in your posts might be that of JY. I’m not one of his students, maybe this is a necessary information to provide. The massive marketing efforts and apparent successes (judging from the pictures that are on display) that JY meets in his work could make one think that whatever the value of his teachings, he knows how to provide himself with a good feng shui. At least if we’re to go by the 3 rules you post in one of your articles (health, family and wealth as the gem stones on a master’s crown). Anyway, I have no reason nor intention to defend JY but I wanted to raise a couple of points. When I attended the class, we were first sold a san he lopan out of which most people only use the 24 mountain ring for lack of knowledge and comprehension of the others.

o 8 killing forces and 8 road of destruction formulae (however effective they may be as you point out in one of your articles) can be both read from the 24 mountain ring. So I can’t see why you’d put such emphasizes on the lopan used to take the reading.

o 8KF: Master YCH used to explain why this is causing problem from his point of view. Now did students process the information? I’ve seen classes asking questions by dozens without giving him a chance to further explain his point. And often people at this stage don’t even know the mountains by heart, are shaky on the element cycles and so on. One thing I can’t remember having heard him say is that 8KF has in anyway an early heaven / later heaven application.

o Ba zhai, house gua and ming gua: ah, not too sure I understand who you mean by the instructor, the proprietor and so on. All I can say is that for sure Master YCH was a firm believer in the effectiveness of the ming gua and stressed out a lot how a sound understanding of the system and good application of it could keep one out of the water. On the other hand I remember him saying privately that he was not all for flying stars.

o Establishing the facing, stepping 3 feet behind the door, etc.: after a couple of years of trials I can only say that this has proved a major help in establishing correct facing. Maybe because I mostly live and study in urban modern environment where there is lots electrical wires, electrical “boxes”, elevators,, heavy iron or metal items. Most often the readings taken strictly from the door or facing would be wrong. I’m not sure what you address in this text, if you want to stress this is very basic instruction and there is no need to make a fuss out of it, maybe is because you haven’t had a chance to see how people can just forget logic and common sense when they have to do something like a measure. Unless you’d rather advocate to use true north instead of magnetic north but then the ancient Chinese would rely on magnetic north I would say since they used a compass (and not a map).

o Location and orientation: ah that’s a very good item. What you describe is true and the scene seems childish and basic and all. How could one possibly confuse such obvious distinctive notions? Well, maybe you have to see it to be believe it but most people still keep confusing both notions.

o 5GCT: true to say that I have often the years here and there heard so many (“informed”) people to say how to use the method internally in so many various and incompatible ways…If I had as many fingers on my hands as the times I heard people (sorry, masters) say they were now going to reveal the big thing I wouldn’t find a keyboard large enough to suite my needs. And as many times teachings concluded with a sentences along the line of “well, you know, you have to figure thing son your own too, I’m not going to baby feed you. Do your home work and research. That’s it for today folks, see you next time”.

8K forces and 8Road, uses beyond the earth plate. The EH and LH components are just the extention of these theories making it more complicated, notably in Dragon Gate 8 Formations. It is a SanYuan intepretation of a SanHe method, that is what I feel.

Facing and Sitting the Shen's Flying Star method uses the 3 ft backward or forward from the facing direction of the property is true as a Shen's method alone. The question I raised is, as you had concurred as hinted by YCH, is this a correct method to begin with. Shen reluctant to publish his manuscript in the first place, I believed for a reason. By the way, Shen is bilingual, he could have wrote it in English if he has the intention to let the whole world know Flying Star.

It is all about the location, direction plays a second fidle.

5GCT is only a sub-method in the whole of Assistant Star Water Mathod (ASWM). Even the understanding of ASWM understood currently is flawed.

The other tag line should be, "... well that will be taught in the next module, don't ask the question now, as it is not in the syllabus..."
